This is a beautiful cake plate or platter made by Universal Cambridge Pottery Company.  The design line is called Laurella and was produced in the 1940's.  The line featured rim designs of leaves and bows.  This cake plate/serving platter features windmills, boat and a boy.  It looks great being the centerpiece of a display on the wall or used as it was intended.  The plate measures 13.5" across the handles.<br>The colors in the decal are still very bright and there are no chips or cracks.  There is minor crazing which is very typical of dinnerware of this era after the 70-plus years of display. On the one handle there is a small mark that is a factory mark or flaw.  It came from the factory like this. There are few other wee factory no-see marks on the back.
